Congratulations on your new companion!
Get both of you off to the right start by enrolling in our Puppy Class. We learn how to communicate with our dogs to ensure lifelong learning. Puppies grow up fast, and puppy class takes advantage of the concentrated learning time of their developing brain.
We enjoy socialization time off leash, and learn about doggy manners. Then we learn basic obedience commands, and practice them each week. Week 3 includes a cat, and Week 4 includes a field trip to the kennel facility across the parking lot. My goal is to have you understand how dogs learn and communicate. I do teach clicker training, which is optional. Each family will get a clicker.
All you need is your fully vaccinated puppy (as age allows), a flat collar and non-retractable leash, a bag of small soft treats, and bags for picking up accidents.
Cost is $75, payable the first night by check or cash.
Designed for dogs ages 8 weeks to 6 months.
Intermediate Dog Obedience
Intermediate obedience class is a refresher course with emphasis on duration, difficulty and distance. We will also focus on any mis-behaviors that might have developed and are now a nuisance. While we are not planning on socialization as a routine part of this curriculum,m it may be included if there are dogs who need practice.
Each 4- week session is $80. Designed for dogs ages 6 months and older.
Canine Good Citizen Certification
Experience the joy of improved communication with your dog by helping her earn the Good Canine Citizen certificate from the American Kennel Club. We train to pass the test, which includes: sit, down, stay, come, heel, greeting strangers, greeting other dogs, and navigating obstacles. Earning the CGC enables the dog and its owner to participate in Pet Therapy programs in schools, nursing homes, hospitals and other care centers. There is something special about sharing your well-behaved dog with those who may not have the opportunity to enjoy pets. It’s also a nice way to network with other dog owners. Take the next step in enjoying your special companion! Upon graduation, your dog will receive a monogrammed bandanna and a certificate for framing.
Classes offered quarterly, depending on waiting list. Please use contact form to indicate interest.
Cost: $80 - four one hour classes, plus one additional class for testing if wanted- the test costs $25 in addition to the class costs.
